Professor David David AC – Pioneer Craniofacial Surgeon “Reconstruction” 77x 61 Oil on canvas by Avril Thomas

After a successful and moving exhibition at Flinders Hospital “Theatre Works”.  Avril Thomas was commissioned by Adelaide University School of Medicine to make a series of paintings and drawings for the School of Medicine 125th Anniversary.

A further 12 months working around the clock. 59 Paintings and drawings emerged of high-profile South Australians who have made a major contribution to medicine and health in South Australia. The exhibition “A Day in the Life of Medicine” was held at Adelaide University’s Bonython Hall. The works were also shown at the Adelaide Convention Centre and at the School of Medicine.
